Kia ora kotou,
it's upload time here after a completely awesome evening in Waikaraka. Many many thanks to Rosemarie Maier for gifting me her time, as well as access to one of the most amazing viewpoints in Northland, the whenua of Ngati Pukenga, her iwi.
I was blown away by the vistas... wow... wow...WOW! The Pa was just something else as well, incredibly engineered, from this strategic point you could see any movement along nearly the entire length of the harbor. I've looked up at this Pa more times than I can remember on my drives out to surf Ocean Beach, Pataua and Kauri Mountain over the years, always admiring it's position, always wondering what the view would be like from the top... It only took thirty years to finally get to see what I was guessing about all this time. Waikaraka Gold!

From the entrance of the harbor...

...all the way right through to Onerahi, Whangarei, and out west.
